Equinix, Digital Realty Agree to $180M Lease for Santa Clara, CA Data Center

A subsidiary of Equinix, Inc. and Digital 1350 Duane, LLC, an affiliate of Digital Realty Trust, have entered into a lease agreement for 160,000 square feet of data center space in a building currently occupied and operated by Equinix in Santa Clara, CA.

The Lease Agreement for the SV2 Silicon Valley Data Center has an initial fixed term of 15 years with two options to renew at 9.5 years each, effectively extending the term of the Lease Agreement to 2048.

The total rent obligation over the initial term of the Lease Agreement is approximately $180 million.

The Santa Clara Data Center at 1350 Duane Ave & 3080 Raymond St is located near Highway 101, according to Digital Realty’s website. The two building data center has a total of 185,000 square feet and was renovated in 2001. These fully operational buildings service IT services customers with a total capacity of 17.2 MW.

Digital Realty Trust, or its affiliates, is currently Equinix’s landlord at other data center properties in the United States and in France.
